| Walter Zagato
He was born in Turin in 1970 and took his violin diploma with maximum marks at the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” under the guidance of Christine Anderson. He has followed virtuositè courses in Ginevra with Corrado Romano and has won the “D. Giannini” scholarship to partecipate in a three-year advanced course with Vadim Brodsky, with whom he has performer as solost with the Orchestra della Radio Svizzera Italiana. A finalist in various National and International competitions, he was the winner of the Vittorio Veneto Competition in 1985 and Lorenzo Perosi Competition in 1994.
In 2001 he played in concert at Palazzo Spinola in Genova, the prestigious violin “Sivori” and “Cannone”, which had belonged Niccolò Paganini.
He has been Konzertmaster of the Orchestra Filarmonica in Turin, which he has participated in major CD recordings and under the conductorship of James Levin, at Three Tenors Concert in Modena.
For some years he has collaborated with several Italian Orchestras, among which the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala and Filarmonica del Teatro alla Scala in Milano.
Since 2000 he has been Principal violin in The Orchestra della Radio Svizzera Italiana in Lugano.
