Duilio Galfetti

DUILIO GALFETTI – violin, mandolin, banjo and strange effects… Since he was seven, Duilio M. Galfetti has dedicated himself to music, first with mandolin studies and later continuing with violin studies. After obtaining the diploma in the violin from the conservatorio «Dreilinden» of Lucerne in Gunars Larsens' class (1989) he began a long collaboration with the Milanese Baroque ensemble Il Giardino Armonico (the Garden of Harmony), in which he not only perfected his study of music played on ancient instruments and a technique of that era but had the opportunity to perform on the Mandolin, Violin and Viola at the most important International Festivals: Festival van Vlaanderen Bruges (Flanders Festival Bruges), Internationale Musikfestwochen Lucerna (Lucerne Festival) , Bach Tage at the Berlin Philharmoni, Styriarte Graz, Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival. Since a very early age he has dedicated himself to the mandolin and follows advanced courses with U. Orlandi and G. Anedda. Since 1990 he has been a member of the historic music ensemble “Il giardino armonico” of Milan, with which he performs at the most important music festivals. He is the founder and first violin of the Ensemble Vanitas and of I Barocchisti, a Baroque orchestra which works in close collaboration with the Coro della Radio Svizzera and with which he has participated in numerous recordings and concerts in important European musical seasons. Duilio Galfetti has also recorded for Naxos, Chandos, BBC music, Auvidis, Ex Libris, Arts and for the major European broadcasters. He plays in the Orchestra della Radio Svizzera Italiana
